Which is the First Rocket Ever Launched?

The principles of rocketry were first tested more than 2,000 years ago, but it's really only been in the past 70 years or so that these machines have been used for applications in space exploration. Here are a few of the facts about the very first Rockets in the history of rockets. Let's go deeper.

1. Most likely the first rocket ever launched was from China sometime around when Gunpowder was developed - around 1000AD - making it the first solid-fueled rocket.
2. The first liquid-fueled rocket is easier to trace, being far more recent, Robert Goddard in 1926.
3. First to cross the Kármán Line would be the V-2 SRBM developed by Wernher von Braun.
4. First to place a payload into LEO would be the R-7 ICBM developed by the USSR in 1957.
